“Magic of Country Living” – Plumas Sierra County Fair 2012

Plumas-Sierra County Fair presents:  “The Magic of Country Living”  August 8th – 12th, 2012

The annual county fair begins today in Quincy! One of the last big events of the summer; come check out the carnival rides, tasty treats, animal and livestock exhibits, art exhibits, and much more!

Wednesday kicks off the opening of fair, starting at noon with free admission until 2pm! Thursday is Kid’s Day – all children (12 and under) get free admission. Tuesday through Friday the livestock shows are held throughout the day in the Livestock Area. Sale of meat livestock will happen at the Junior Livestock Auction on Sunday, August 12th in the SPI Pavilion.

Lacy J. Dalton to Perform at Gold Diggers 2012!

Gold Digger Days is this weekend! This year is Town of Greenville’s 150th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of the Gold Digger Days Celebrations. These festivities will begin Friday, July 20th and continue through that Sunday, July 22nd.

This year well-known country singer Lacy J. Dalton will be joining us! You can see her perform on Friday the 20th beginning at 7:30pm on Main Street in Downtown Greenville. This is a free concert! Come down and enjoy live music at no cost! There will be 100 reserved seats and plenty of room to get down and boogie!

On Saturday, begin your day with a hearty breakfast sponsored by the Eastern Star’s of Greenville. Breakfast starts at 7:00am and goes until 10:00am at the Greenville Masonic Hall (downtown Greenville). After breakfast, watch the annual Gold Digger Days Parade then enjoy street and food vendors along Main Street.

The annual Men’s Softball Tournament takes place this weekend too! Head down to the Greenville Park on Saturday and Sunday to enjoy a couple of games and Indian Tacos. For more information on this tournament, please call Anthea or Jess Smith at (530)-284-7764.

Independence Day 2012

The 4th of July in Indian Valley is always a fun and special time, as people from all over flock to the area for camping, fishing, water-sports, and of course, the annual Silver Buckle Rodeo in Taylorsville.

High Sierra Music Festival 2012

Get ready for this year’s High Sierra Music Festival!!

July 5th – 8th 2012 at the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds in Quincy, CA.

This is the 22nd year for the very popular music festival featuring jazz, bluegrass, rock, folk, blues, and funk music on four different daytime stages and four separate late night venues. This festival has grown in size and popularity since its beginning and now boasts over 10,000 attendees each year.

Come enjoy a weekend of great music, fresh and tasty food, a variety of beverages including beer and wine, vendors and much more!

Summer in Indian Valley kicks off with the Annual 4th of July celebrations.

This year the Jackpot Riding & Roping will begin on Friday, June 29th at the Taylorsville Rodeo Grounds and continue through Tuesday, July 3rd; please call 530-284-1472 or 530-284-6532 for more information.

In the evening on July 3rd come enjoy “The Billies”, a live band from Redding, Ca, at the Annual Taylorsville Grange Dance from 9:00pm till 1:00a; for more information or ticket sales please call 530-284-0824

Start your Independence Day with a hearty breakfast at the Annual Cowboy Breakfast held in front of the Mt. Jura Museum from 7:00am till 11:00am. The 4th of July Parade begins at 10:00am through historical downtown Taylorsville.
